  • Anyone ever done vinyl wrap on their XS.?

I recently decided to try a vinyl wrap on my XS. I ordered some very high quality stuff from alsacorp.com. (Check out their website, they have some pretty cool products). The stuff I got is the softouch style, and it is supposed to be scratch proof. They even have a video on the website of someone scratching a car with a key, and it doesn't leave any marks... We will see if it is true or not.
I took the tank, fenders, and side covers off from my bike last night, and I am in the process of prepping them to put the wrap on.
I am wondering if anyone has done it before, and if they have any words of wisdom for me before I try to do the wrap myself.
Any help you can give would be appreciated.
I will be sure to post photos of it when I get it back together.
    Thanks,
    80 SG

    Hi Kris,
I never heard of vinyl wrap and when I googled it the screen locked up.
Had to unplug the computer to fix that so I'm predisposed to hate the process.
One of the Turple brothers covered an old Kawi with fake leopardskin and I don't suppose a vinyl wrap job can look worse than that so go for it

Not sure if anyone has done it to an 11 but wraps are used constantly on race cars. It is alot cheaper to change a wrap than put on a new paint job if and when some sponsor decides to pull out.

I see no reason why it would not work. The main reason I have never tried a wrap is because there will probably not be that 12" deep mirror shine on the wrap. Gotta love that shine! But in a wrap, for a small amount of money you can get the same wild graphics as would cost alot of $$ to obtain with paints and airbrushing, etc.

Although I've never heard of Vinyl Wrapping, the following link opens up another option for us:

1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors )
        1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
        1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
        1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
        1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.
