Are all XJ shocks rebuildable, or just XJ1100s?

Unless it's a 'air shock', the answer is no. And technically, even the XJ11 shock is only partially rebuildable. The damper part of it (the actual 'shock' part as opposed to the 'air spring' portion which can be repaired) is sealed on almost all OEM (certainly all older OEM) and most aftermarket units and not rebuildable except possibly by a specialist ($$$). A few high-end aftermarket 'shocks' (some Konis, Progressive, Ohlins, and others) are fully rebuildable but they're fairly rare. Good rule-of-thumb for OEM shocks; if the shock has a visible external coil spring on it, it's not rebuildable....Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two
