Middle driven gear seal

I'm rebuilding my engine. I've tracked down every seal and gasket I need expect the middle driven gear seal. Does anyone have a part number for it? Timken, National, etc?

Just to clarify this seal is around the middle driven gear in the main case, not in the middle drive gear unit.

Thanks man. I appreciate it. I've been looking everywhere.

I actually dug through the Timken book and measured out the seal, I think a Timken 710360 will work it's a 35x72x10. I'll post back when I get it to let everyone know. It's fun trying to find parts some times

If you can't find a generic replacement, this site says they have 1 left NOS but $38. Yamamama lists it as part obsolete.

Wow thats nuts. So i looked everywhere the Timken 710360 seems to be out of production. I did find that the Timken 710360 crosses to a SKF 13896. I've ordered one of ebay. I'll post back after I get it and install it.

Hey guys. I just wanted to post back my results. The SKF 13869 seal works great. It fits very good. Like the other seals it does not have the outer lip that fits into the grooves, but it's a snug fit.

Here's a picture for anyone doing an engine rebuild and is unsure of the seals to buy.



The crank seals are Timken/National 223215, Timken/National 223230, and the middle driven gear seal is SKF 13896 *Editted*. The Timken/National seals are carried at most auto parts stores, and the SKF seal can be bought of ebay for about $10.

I found somewhere that you should buy a Timken 223240 instead of 223230, but it did not fit snuggly in the hole at all. Do not buy the 223240.

Crap. Sorry about that; I tried to make sure I got them all right. I'll revise my thread.

I double checked my order slip and the middle gear seal is:

SKF 13896
