    2 1/4 in shorty Slip on's?

I have what i believe to be a MAC 4-2 exhaust system with turn out mufflers. However I do not care for them, and they don't fit what i wish to do with my bike. I do however plan to use the header pipes if possible. The end of the MAC header pipes measure 2 1/4 inch diameter. Are there and relatively short slip on mufflers with this inlet sizing?
I've searched through several pages of posts and and haven't really found an answer.

If you are cheap like me, you'll learn to like the sound of the Mac turnouts, unless you are prepared to spend $160+ on each muffler from Supertrapp.

oh the sound is fine! It's more about the length of the pipe, and the fact that the PO decided it was a good idea to spray paint them. I want something a bit shorter, ending just past the passenger pegs.

If i couldn't find anything i was thinking maybe making a muffler with some exhaust tips and a pair of insert baffles.
like a frankenstein mesh between something like this http://www.smartpartz.com/SPZHK300K.html and something along the lines of this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wesdon-Exhau...sories&vxp=mtr or some custom cut pipe to be chromed or ceramic coated later.

yeah i just happened upon them. Creative thought trying to escape me. Since we are here what are your thoughts on the Make your own muffler thing? with these twohttp://www.verociousmotorsports.com/...haust-Tip-1558 and http://stores.smartpartz.com/-strse-....00/Detail.bok With these two it would come to around $60-$70 a muffler with mounting brackets but you would have that 2.25 inlet that's hard to find
edit: that verocious site also has a 18 in tip with the 2.25 inlets 3 in outlets

              Hi John and welcome,
OK, if the dreaded PO painted the pipes the chrome must be past it's best so you wreck nothing by welding to them?
Your local equivalent to Canadian Tire stocks short adapters to go between different sizes of exhaust pipe. Weld one on each cut-off end to get down to a size you can find mufflers to slip onto.
As exhausts, especially mufflers, burn or rust out and replacement systems become more difficult to find; XS owners are being driven to cut'n'weld'n'adapt exhausts just to keep the bikes on the road.
I got Triumph mufflers on mine.
