Are any of these salvageable or should I try to find a replacement? Second question where the heck can I find replacements?

The only way I found was in complete carb kits.
Do a search for broken tip. I ended up using an 11/64 drill bit and have to drill very slow. Eventually I removed enough that the remaining tip fell out without distorting the hole in the throat of the carb.Nate

Once they are drilled they are much harder to tune . So I suggest the freezing method . I like to spray Carbs cleaner in The top and then put the mix screw back in then freeze the rack over night . Then the next day I get a 90 degree mechanics pic and a large closed end wrench . Position the wrench end in the throat of the Carbs and use it to brace the pick and push the broken tip out . It has worked amazingly for me . Plus you don't end up mangling the Carbs body91 kwaka kz1000p

If the tip is sticking down into the throat get a small bolt just about as long as the height of the throat. Put an acorn nut on the end, put the bolt in the throat and turn the nut to push the tip up.
It might fall out completely or you might have to still use a pic to pop it out the rest of the way. Freezing does help because brass and aluminum have different expansion and contraction rates.
Drilling it out should be an ABSOLUTE last resort cause even a slight slip up and then you need a new carb.Nathan

sometimes none of the tricksy needle-end removal methods will work.
Then you gotta drill it out. That's tricksy too.
You gotta use a drill press (AKA bench drill, pillar drill) A hand held drill just won't cut it.
Set the carb body up dead square on the press bed and be sure the drill chuck is perfectly centered on the needle hole.
Drill the needle stub out with a 1mm (0.039") drill bit which is the stock hole size.
If your bench drill chuck is like mine and won't grip that small of a drill bit you can get away with using a 1/16" drill bit although you'll have to tune that carb. differently.Fred Hill, S'toon

Well there isn't a smidgen of space in the freezer so that ones out of the question, but lucky me I happen to have a smaller drill press for my workshop/office. I will try with the thumb tacks first and if that doesn't happen then I'll move on to using the drill press. Thanks everyone for the abundance of ideas!79F with two parts bikes (78E and a 79F). Ran it for the first season all the way through the summer. more work to do this Spring!

take something out of the freezer (there's always something in there that's gotten freezerburned and best thrown out or if it's still good you could eat it?) to make room for the carb.

Alright, I think I will completely refrain from drilling it out. I talked to the guy I got it from and he said if I wanted to i could bring the carb with the stuck needle and he would give me one of his spares.79F with two parts bikes (78E and a 79F). Ran it for the first season all the way through the summer. more work to do this Spring!
