Just a heads up for everyone looking for a replacement REAR brake line. I did a LOT of looking with the old lines at a local shop, and fount that the Galfer FK003D348R will work just fine on our bikes. It's made for a Honda CBR600RR, 2003, 2004 year model. The only thing is you will need to reuse one banjo bolt, as the Honda has one with a fine thread. List price on the kit is about $65 to $70, so it's not bad.

I am only one line fitment away from having all the brake line parts for every stock model of our XS's. Both rubber and S/S lines including colored sheathing and banjoe bolts as well as the rubber components for mounting etc will be available. Pricing is as yet an unknown. One piece replacements for the rear are also going to be ready. It gets closer each day.2-79 XS1100 SF

When I replaced the rusted out handlebar on my G I opted for a slightly taller and more swept back one, so I could have a more upright seating position instead of leaning forward and bearing the weight of my upper body on the palms of my hands. This made the brake line from the MC to the splitter 2" too short.
So I went down to my trusty local Jap bike recycler and got a 17" hose off a much more modern bike (a crotch rocket, and I think it's braided SS under the black rubber coating) for $15. What a difference that line made!!! I've always made sure I had great stopping power, even BikerPhil commented once about it. In my mind, if you're going to go fast you better be able to stop fast too.
Lesson here is that you don't have to go spending big $$$ for better lines than what you have now. Measure them, get the angles on the ends right, and go to your local recycler, bone yard, junk yard. You'll be amazed at the results you'll get for not too much $$$.
OH yeah btw, be careful about having more stopping power at the rear than at the front....!!! We all know what that leads to. Hope it doesn't happen to you.1980G Standard, Restored
