  • They look a bit small...

A friend gave me the intake boots from his eighty something Yamaha that looks like the kid brother to an XS. They look smallish but familiar, and have molded into them '33mm'. Are not our carbs 34mm? And is that the inside or outside diameter of the bore/body?
I am assuming that they won't fit (without taking my carbs off for comparison), any insight out there?

I saw one of those bikes a week or so ago. I went to look at it for parts and there were subtle differences but very similar too. It was an XJ, and it said 81 on the neck which would make it an 82. A lot of the parts for an XJ550 are very similar in appearance with slightly different sizes. The bike I looked at had smaller exhaust headers, intake boots etc... They made an XJ550, 650, and also a Seca XJ550, 750 just in 81 alone. They were 4 cylinder bikes too. They must be a little rare cause I never see many of them.

Heck 1mm is doable with a heat gun to soften up the rubber and some Astroglide or other latex safe sex lubricant.
