Spark plug wire replacement.

I already bought some coils. The coils for an XJ550 have the same part number and color coding, we'll see how they work. I might just dig a little deeper on these coils and see if there's a way to re encase them with some type of epoxy and completely refurbish them since I already screwed this one up. Now I want to see inside it.

Glad to hear you got some coils. Let us know how they work. For me often takes more than one try along with fixing anything else I might break...
Sorry for your difficulties. Keep at it. You will get it eventually. Let us know if the new style are repairable.
