    Cam Chain Adjustment Questoin

    Hi Guys
    Do we adjust the stock cam chain tensioner with the bike cold or warm?
    Keep the shiny side up

    It shouldn't matter, the FSM makes no mention of doing the adjustment hot or cold.

      I would sugest cold, unless you like burning your hands/wrists on the header pipes/.

        30 yrs. ago I was told to make that adjustment hot.........by a Yamaha design engineer. Makes sense as the metal does expand minutely under heat. Meanwhile get one of the auto adjusters as that stock manual adjuster won't hold in place for you very long after an adjustment.
