Depends on your location. I've been seeing XS11s around the Seattle area being advertised for up to $2500. There was even some nut asking $8000 for one just because it had turbos. Very cool yes and probably rare too, but not worth anything like he was asking. If you live in an area where there is a lot of salt and rain, anything vintage will sell for more. In the desert, not so much. The right buyer may pay a few thousand, while others might not appreciate the Midnight status. I sold my last Midnight with a salvage title for $1000, and the guy was giddy as a school girl. It was mechanically sound with 20k, but it needed a lot of cosmetics cause it sat for a decade in the desert sun.

The highest I recall to date was a very low miles (like less than 5k miles) 100% stock MNS in complete showroom condition that sold to one of our European members for right at $4,500 or so.

In general, and in theory, one that has been restored to showroom is not as valuable as one that has been kept in showroom condition. So yours, in theory, would fetch a lower price.

However, as is always the case, anything is worth exactly the merger point of the maximum the buyer is willing to pay and the minimum the seller is willing to accept.

DGXSER is right. It's all about what the market will bare. If you truly want to get top dollar for the bike, you have to be patient and advertise in the right locations. There are collectors out there that would be willing to pay more for the bike, but you've got to find them. Local Craigslist ads, won't be enough. You've got to advertise nationally and internationally. I'm sure there's a website for selling vintage restored bikes somewhere on the inter-tubes. Find it and be patient.

If you have access to a powder coating place for cheap than it may be worth it. There aren't a whole lot of pieces on the bike with the black anodized looking finish, so it could be reasonable to have it done. The gold plating is another story. Paint is easy.
