    Use a breaker bar!

Whats a breaker bar? U mean a cheater pipe to lengthen the ratchet? That'll still break the tool..

Breaker bar dosent have a ratchet and is typically longer than a normal ratchet. I have a 1/2" drive breaker with a 30" handle. I havent found anything I couldnt spin off. Google breaker bar.

Soak the bolt threads with PB Blaster penetrating oil and use a 1/2" drive breaker bar. A breaker bar doesn't ratchet, it just has a square for the socket on a long handle. If possible, try to loosen the nut side instead of the bolt head, the bolt may be frozen in it's bushing, you can hammer that out after the nut is off.

Use Craftsman. If you break it they replace it.
But a breaker bar is better.

Excellent thanks dudes...yeah that 1/4" drive ratchet seems to be the achilles heel! Hopefully i can find a breaker bar in town here for cheap, its starting to get pretty spendy just to have the the luxury of putting my feet up

After trying to get Special Eds engine out, I can give a hint or two.
                  1. Take the NUT off(inside the frame/engine) and THEN try to remove the bolt.
                  2. Cut the head off the bolt, drive the bolt in past the fame, cut the bolt on the inside of the frame, drive it back again and jack up the front of the engine to remove the mounts. You can THEN try and remove whats left of the bolt from the mount(good luck!). Because of the steel sleeve inside of the mount, the bolt WILL rust to it.
I hope the bars come with the longer bolts you will need!

Which guards have you got? If it's the 3 point set that sold on ebay the other day I'll take em.

                      Got a pic?
