I'm trying to remove my triple tree upper/bracket, whatever you call it. I've removed the 3 bolts attaching it to the fork and steering stem, as well as the bolt going into the steering stem. It still doesn't budge. What am I missing?

If you've removed the three clamp bolts and the stem bolt, it should pull right off. Give it a little 'help' with a rubber hammer (or a wood block and a regular hammer), you might have some rust under the clamping areas. If you have bent fork tubes or lower tree, that could also be the problem, you might want to check for alignment after getting the top tree off...Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

Just to be sure, you did loosen or remove the pinch bolt where the triple tree goes over the steering stem, correct?Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

Try loosening the lower tree pinch bolts; if you have any bent parts, that should help....Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two
