That much oil would almost have to be rings leaking. Check your cylinder and I would get new rings, and hone the cylinders. Check first to see if you need oversized rings or stock. There have been a few sets of stock rings on ebay lately.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

after some work ive got the cylinders partially off. i ve run into a snag.... they only come up so far then catch. they are completly off the pistons but wont come completly off. it seems they are catching on the threads somehow. i cant see anything that should be holding them back.81 MNS

Probably gunk in the holes. You already soaked it in PB Blaster right? Better yet, try some marvel mystery oil, I find more uses for that stuff every day."The Hooligan" XJ1100, Virago Gauge Pods, Screaming Eagle Mufflers, K&N Filter, hand made rear fender, side covers, and solo seat, round bar conversion, small headlight, tail light, and cat eye turn signals, chip fuses, rewired the right way.

How much does that big boar kit cost? That's something I'd like to do. My bike was seized so it might be an option for me soon too."The Hooligan" XJ1100, Virago Gauge Pods, Screaming Eagle Mufflers, K&N Filter, hand made rear fender, side covers, and solo seat, round bar conversion, small headlight, tail light, and cat eye turn signals, chip fuses, rewired the right way.
