      Front line

Just installed a set of Speiglers. Don't know the exact lengths, but they were for a 78E and the line from the MC to the junction is too dam short. Had to move the mc toward the middle of the bar and the line is still stretched more than I'd like.

Wish I'd have know about these sooner.

        Spiegler Lines

I installed Spiegler lines on my 78E last year and had exactly the same problem. Front master cylinder line to the junction was too short. Moved the M/C in a bit on the handle bar and stretched it as taunt as I dare. Nice lines, nice feel but that particular line is about 2' to short.

I remeasured my 80 SG lines again. Bill and I are within a 1/4 inch, I'll shoot you an e-mail to discuss the details.

So here we are. We have the following measurements for the front M/C line, which seems to be the only difference between the XS Standard and the XS Special models:

XS Standard: 16 inches Banjo center to center.

XS Special: 20-7/8 inches Banjo center to center

              OR

Xs Special: 19-3/4 inches Banjo center to center

For the XS Special, which one is right?

              Input is welcome.

Well, I measured my '81 SH again and it just can't be over 20 inches, so I will stick to my 19.75. This is the only XS1100 I have and can't say that it's the same as the rest of the specials.

I remeasured again and got 20 1/2 tip to tip. Take off about 1/4 inch on each end to account for the distance from the center to the tip of the fitting anf that puts us within 1/4 inch.

Got it. Thanks. Got your letter, too. I'll fabricate the hoses to your measurements.
