    Welcome

Glad you've joined, these bikes are bullet proof and easily repaired, even by far sighted monkeys. Get bugs manuals and scroll though the forums till u see misc and look for what to do on a neglected XS. Performance wise it will be a big step up from the 750. Ask all the questions you want. The knowledge is here for everything and everyone will help with no ridicule. We like pictures, get yourself a photobucket account and post a few. Absolutely agree that learning to do it yourself is much better than taking it to a dealer.

      You guys rock,

Thanks again all, will be starting servicing this week, hope to have it completed and back on the road by Saturday, weather is already starting to get cooler in upstate NY, though some might saw after a summer like this, that may not be such a bad thing especially in the midwest and all points south. Originally the guy was a salesman for MT Holly Yamaha...Honda Powersports...then he opened a shop in Cherry Hill called Be a Biker...that closed after abt 2 yrs.. but before it did i became friends with their head mechanic...he was working out of his home while he was going to setup his own shop in Pemberton...his name is Pat Doyle...I moved out of NJ before he had established his shop... Dunno if it came to fruition...somewhere I think I still have his home phone #...Like I said...they really know the old bikes and the guy was completely honest and his prices were quite fair at the time I dealt with him.
I have not contacted him since I have left NJ over 2 1/2 yrs ago tho...
