    Self canceling

I just installed the two prong. Blinker now flashes at a steady pace. I must admit that that is the only difference. I have not had the bike long so I'm not sure how the self canceling is supposed to work or if it ever did.

      flasher

I had the same problem, only the right blinker worked slower or not at all, and only with the bike running. I changed to a 2 prong flasher, and solved that problem. Then I went out one night, and found that the right blinker also activated the high beam headlight. I went through all the wiring (I have a windjammer) and found everything to be as it should. I now think the problem is in the handlebar switch. I had one from an 80 with the emergency flasher, and had to re arrange the wire connections. So, this winter I will try to find a different handlebar control. Any ideas on what I can use? The stock ones are probably no longer available. What else will work without a major change in the wiring harness?

Rover, mikesxs sells replacements for the handlebar controls. You have to use your old plug, so you need to pull the pins out and move them over to the old plug.

          Hi Phil,
FWIW, a 2-prong flasher will fit into the bike's 3-prong plug two ways.
One way nothing happens, t'other way the flasher works but not the self-canceller.
I pay the extra ~$5 for an electronic flasher because they have the same pulse rate regardless of load while the el-cheapo units speed up with extra load.
