    1978 XS110E completed

Mine looked exactly like that (in 1978). Too bad that I sold it in the mid 80's. Good job, looks brand new. Never a better look than pure stock.

      Hey Wayne,

Phenomenal job and find! However, the guy/folks that sold you the tires either lied or something, because if you'll zoom in on this image of the rear:

and look at the sidewall at the bottom near the ground, you'll clearly see the model #s' 404, so they are not the Elite 491's, at least not the rear! I can't see the front, must be behind the fender, or on the other side of the tire. The 404's have the same tread pattern as the 491's, but they do not have the same thickness, nor the same weight rating, and so especially on the rear, they will wear out fairly quickly due to the power of the XS11. Dunlop is phasing out their Elite II's series tires, with less sizes available, the Elite III is the newer version, but some anectodal reports of this tire's durability has made them not so desireable, the mileage/cost ratio is not so good now, so folks are getting the lesser $$ imports.

My mistake... I just checked my bills. They are indeed 404's... I like them just fine.
