The story of the "Swamp Thing" is still evolving. When I'm finished, I'll post it, but thanks for asking. I've spent the last 6 months parts searching, as almost everything needed some work or replacement. I got lucky with the motor, though. 31K on it and 150lbs/in compression accross the board. The engine condition is what gave me the green light to go ahead with the restoration. When you see the before picture you'll understand why I was hesitant to do anything with her.
Right now, I'm finished rebuilding the carbs and painting the cosmetics (Tank, Tail & Sides), refurbed the emblems, repainted and polished the wheels and I'm about to strip and paint the frame. After that, I can begin re-assembly. Everything that's rubber has been replaced new or NOS. Everything else has been stripped and either re-plated or re-painted. It's a good thing it's been a long winter!
