Bike is a 79 XS11 Special (XS1100SF). I have cleaned carbs recently and added fuel filters. The carbs have the correct air and fuel jets as per the Yamaha service publication. Also has new Dyna Coils, spark plugs, and wires. I have ohmed out the pick up coil wires at the ignitor and looked for breaks in the p/u coil wires at the side cover. Compression is good in all holes.
The engine is somewhat cold natured. I take that as a given. What it has is what I can best describe as an "off-idle stumble". It idles fine. It RPMs fine after that, but just has that annoying little stumble. There is not a nice enough "roll" off idle like I think it is suppose to have. If I were to guess an RPM range for the stumble, it would be just off idle to maybe 1700-2000. It is idling at about 1050-1100. If you go WOT from idle it will RPM quickly. The engine does have plenty of power everywhere else.
So, is this normal, or have I overlooked something?
Thanks in advance for your help.
