Mine is mounted in a fairing. Otherwise pretty similar I suspect. I also have some cheapo LED driving lights mounted on my crash bars. They illuminate the area covered by the fairing pretty well. I was hoping for some cornering light from them. Glad they were cheap.

Got the HID kit in the fairing, got the bike going again (Thanks to Geezer!) (again). It all works. Haven't had it out in the dark yet, but it has to be better.

        Hey Poprock and others,

I had a pair of 55 watt HALOGEN Aux. driving lights, and even though I have the one wire mini-race alt and so I have plenty of juice, I was still looking for some other AUX lights, both in LOW AMP draw and possibly LED. Well, SuperbrightLeds had these hi power LEDS available for a modest price. My pair of Halogens several years ago only cost about $30 or so for the pair. These LEDs are $39.95 EA, but are definitely HIGH QUALITY products, solid Aluminum housing, metal U brackets. See the photos description for all of the details.

Okay, here are a couple of shots in front of my house, I was about 100 feet away, but zoomed in to fill the frame. These were shot around 6 pm, still plenty of sunlight out....I used the standard and then the 1 full f-stop darker setting. These things are BRIGHT!!!
They are listed as OFF ROAD..but who cares....I want to be seen and I want to be able to see in isolated road conditions at night. The last 2 photos are not well focused....just free hand shooting at night! You can see the intensity of the amount of light being thrown by the AUX lights in the last photo vs. the HID alone. I can just aim them a bit more downward and outward to provide more ground view coverage vs. down the road....will leave the HID for that.

Like they say, you usually get what you pay for. I've seen those little LED light bars in Walmart for $24.00/pr, but they do NOT have any lumens ratings!?

They look good on the bike from the front, TC.

Those look like the ticket. Mine were $10 off eBay. They make the bike more visible from the front, but don't help where I need them to.
