Possibly I'm just ignorant but aren't Venturer handlebars the same as all standard bars?

He said Venture, not Venturer. The Venture handlebars are funky, much like the XJ bars.

I have thought about doing this. Is it a straight swap or did you have to lengthen any cable or wire?

the ones i got came off a 86 venture royale dont know if that makes any difference or not. its pretty much plug and play. i used the alum. uprights only and used my original control bars because the ventures are way too long for my taste and would need longer wires and such. look behind the fork cover where the brake line is theres a clamp holding the brake line with a rubber grommet its glued on. just peel off where it will slide up and down and put back in clamp this will give you a little more freeplay at the bar. when it comes time to replace the hose i plan to make it a couple inches longer. the 1100 switch badge between the bars needs to be trimmed a little thats it. i hope this answers your questions. ps if you use the venture control bars its like beach bars lol.
