    '80 or '81 midnight?

So I traded my old dirt bike to this guy for what I thought was a '81 midnight special, but I just checked the vin number against the listing in the tech tips section and it turns out it's a '80!

I know these are the rarer ones, but is there any differences between the two besides the fact less were made in '80? I'd like to make sure it's a 80 before I start calling it that! Thanks guys....

You should be able to tell by the serial number.

Yeah, according to the serial number it is a 80. I just wanted to see what the difference were besides just being more rare. Thanks...

What do your rims look like? The 80 Midnight rims were straight spoke, and the 81's were that spiral/pinwheel pattern.
