Surely any sane person would agree that a noisy NON PERFORMANCE motor - bike or car - is the most obnoxious sound possible. Some clown 2 houses from me has some absolute pile of gutless s#### car with a 'noise for noise sake' exhaust. When I hear it at 3 a.m. I gnash my teeth in anger! On the contrary, the piped R1 down the street doesn't worry me in the least. Actually look forward to hearing it. Yeah - each to his own.

There is a metal piece inside the megaphone that may be a baffle as well. James Ho (an oldtime XSive) once said that he used a crowbar to pull out the metal baffle on his Jardine pipe. I'm not sure if that's what he was referring to. You'll see it when you remove the endcap. Let me know if you take that out.

While riding home on the interstate after a day ride yesterday, my end cap came off. I could tell immediately.
