carb syncing question

  • carb syncing question

    now that i finally have a carb sync tool. i need to know where to hook it up. is it to the carb boots? or is there a port on the actual carbs?
    1979 xs special, just finished the top end rebuild and then i still have lots of work.

    The carb boots. Each one has a nipple and a cap or hose on it.
    If you've got a standard, #2 & #3 petcocks hook up there.
    If you've got a special, #2 is hooked up to the 'octy'/fuel valve.
    Hook up your sync rig to those 4 ports.
    Make sure you've got the gas on prime, otherwise, you'll run out of gas because either the petcocks won't flow or the fuel valve(octy) won't.

    the only port on the carbs is #2 for the vac advance line.
