I have an oem factory installed oil cooler. I'll be looking to reroute the lines to the cooler. Can I snip the hoses off at the collar on both ends where it meets the metal pipe leading to the fittings and clamp a new hose to it or do I need to order new hoses.

    Hey there,

I'm not familiar with the FACTORY oil coolers, but those lines are under a considerable amount of pressure since they come right OFF the pump before going INTO the engine. SO...you would want some sort of ribbed type hose nipped for the hoses to fit onto/over as well as a flat clamping area beyond the ribbed section to help secure the hoses so that they would not blow off!

Okay, re-read your post...the system uses press/clamp on hoses onto metal fittings/nipples....OR...are they machined/crimped hose fittings to the metal portions???

Some photos would be helpful. An OEM cooler plate a fellow had in Canada used standard NPT 1/4" size fittings which was the same size/thread fittings I used for my cooler SOFCA, so he was able to remove my supplied barbed brass nipple/fittings and screw his OEM hoses directly into the SOFCA!

Depending on how long of hoses you need and such, you may be able to get different types of fittings for use of press on/clamp on hoses vs. the AN style factory crimped fittings/ends on the hoses???

Well I decided to stick with oem exhaust. No spaghetti for me right now. Won't need to reroute oil lines everything stays the same.
      Thanks anyway
