  • Start Button on Throttle Control

    Hi Guys,

Need some help here! I pushed the button to start my XS1100 and the button popped out with a little brass piece. I realized the button is broken so it slipped out but I can start it by pushing something narrow into the hole for now but obviously need to replace this part.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this happen among you so what advice can anyone offer on this? Can I find the parts to replace it? If so where do I get parts?

Also, even when I put the little brass looking piece in and the button in and held it, it wouldn't activate the starter? Maybe another part fell out I didn't realize?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

to get ur bike started u could jump
the 2 large studs on the starter solenoid
behind the side cover with the ignition on.

regarding where to get the button, its also the same
as the horn button, ebay/mikesxs sell them from memory.

there is a spring that sits behind the button, ive never had
1 pop out so not sure if it stays in or comes out.
