    Hi I'm fairly new to street bikes, (only rode dirtbikes) I've had my 1980 xs11sg for about a month its a great bike, although my rear brake a few days ago went soft. The lever bottomed out and didn't return. I checked the brake fluid pads, caliper lines and everything seems to be ok, I tried to bleed the brafkes the traditional way with no results fluid comes out of the bleeder screw so the master cylinder seems to be ok
    Anyone has any info, advice or tips they will be appreciated. Thanks
    Ps. Does anyone know where I can get a round headlight assembly for my xsup

      Look at the spring or the adjustment for the pedal. Can you get pressure if you manually push the plunger by hand without using the pedal?

      Your SG should already have a round headlight unless it has a fairing, if that is the case the bucket may still be under the fairing and the headlight and trim ring on the fairing is the one you use in the bucket.

      Or if someone swapped to the rectangular standard headlight. Or do you really have a standard?

        The shaft for the rear brakes passes through a tube in the frame and over time and disuse will dry out and rust up. It needs to be disassembled, cleaned and greased.

        What all do you need for your headlight?

          Thanks for the advice I will check all those things but I still don't have any brakes when the pedal is depressed like they need bled. And for the headlight I have the windjammer 4 but no bucket underneath I want to take it off but I need a light

              The brackets and square rubber bushings in the holes are still behind the fairing

                So you need the bucket and turn signals and the hardware.

                I'll see what I've got when I get home and PM you.

                    if Greg's stuff ain't what you need you can get aftermarket new stuff from MikesXS and their prices are quite reasonable.
                    Mikes stuff is all for XS650s but a lot of it is common to the entire XS series.
                    Or contact Andreas Weiss or others in the "parts for sale" forum to see what's available used.
