  • No Headlight or taillight

On the LG that I am building I used a SF wiring harness I have everything working except the Headlight, taillight and lights on the gages. I do not have the light check unit (not sure what it is called) I have one coming in on Friday.

Would this unit keep the lights from working? Or do I need to be looking for something else? From the looks of the Wiring diagram it only turns on the oil light if something is not working properly.

The bike runs, turn signals work, brake lights work and the nutral light works. I replaced the fuse box with a blade type box. The fuses are brand new and are the 'Smart Fuse' that lights up when is is blown. They all look fine.

found the issues. The headlight was not working because of a bad headlight relay (the relay just above the coils), the tail lights were not working because of the missing Light check unit. Now everything is working.

Glad you got it sorted out. Just for future reference if needed...

      Wiring Bypass:

Light Checker Unit : Unplug unit and connect blu and blu/yel together at the harness plug.

Headlight Relay : Unplug unit and connect red/yel and blu/blk together at the harness plug.

Reserve Lighting Unit: Unplug unit and connect blu/blk and blu/yel together at the harness plug.
