Looks like it could be a good one. There are others out there.
The good ones with a good reflector give a lot of light down the road. I am thinking of doing the same. Certainly saves some precious electrical power.

      Here's what I was considering for a headlight: https://www.amazon.com/Approved-Head...d=WBPVZIBSSHPS

My headlight lens is cracked, though, so I am less inclined to replace just the bulb.

        Hi Dan,
That might well be a good solution for a Special. I would investigate how it attaches to the Harley to see how to attach to the XS but as it comes with it's own "bucket", which will be full of electronics, where will all the existing wires go?

          Phil,
Reading the advert it is just the "bulb", but with an aluminum housing instead of steel or plastic. This would be for cooling of the LED chips. It looks to me as it would work well for a special because it is designed for a motorcycle. Auto headlamps have a different light pattern, as a car needs are different, and they do not work quite as well as motorcycle lamps on a motorcycle. JMHO

…...very true, mostly due to refracter lense differences.
