on july the forth me and my brother took our first real ride since we both go our bikes. we both got our bikes about a year ago and havent been able to ride them until now. i was building mine and he was having alot of problems with his (86 harley sportster 883) and took it to just about every mechanic in the area with no luck, and i did all of my work on my bike (81 xs1100 bobber) myself, and with the help of everyone on here. we went out to some land that he owns about 45 minutes away. the trip there went without a hitch, a great ride, me and my younger brother bonding. once there we both checked our gas and headed home, and about a quarter of the way home either his clutch or his transmission went out. if i was to put money on it i would have figured that mine would have broke down before his did. but it just goes to show you that the xs has killed another harley. the whole purpose of this thread is to thank everyone that has helped me out in one way or other in the build of my bike, if it wasnt for you guys it would have been me on the tow truck not him. my bike did great the whole ride, and when he was riding i left him in the dust. thanks again for everyones help.
