  • Idle mixture screw problem.

Im putting together a set of carbs I got from Diverray. I cleaned them and picked up kits for new gaskets and idle screws.

I get to carb #3 and run into an issue. I see the idle screw on this one is shorter and fatter and not as pointy as the others. I look into where it screws in and see what looks like someone in the past had broken off the tip of the idle screw. Instead of removing the tip.

They drilled another small hole in front of it. Is this a problem?

I cant get a pic of the hole it screws into, but heres the second hole in the barrel.

    I would say yes

But it can be fixed. There are threads you canread on how to make a home made removal tool to push that tip out, fill the other hole, and replace the broken screw with a fresh one.

Otherwise it might be difficult to tune. Not impossible, just harder. Ask Ray, maybe he knows and maybe it adjusts fine.
