  • Got Rusty Nuts?

For those of you who have rusty exhaust header nuts, Here's a nice replacement.

It's a 6mm driver instead of the stock 8mm and only costs 1.49 from boats.net

    http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/ya...-08599-00.html

Mine looks a little funny now with one shiny one and 7 rusty ones.

I think I'm gonna have to splurge and spend another $10.50 for 7 more.

Nice lookin replacements. When having exhaust off for whatever reason i just soda-blast them and the mounting flanges back to shiney chrome like the head pipes.

I just had to come up with a catchy title to this thread.

Originally posted by motoman View Post

Mine are too far gone to blast, even if i had a blaster to do it.

Boats, also had the cheapest rubber grommets for the side covers.

1.67 for the lower right side oval shaped one. 90480-01401-00
2.67 for the left and right upper front ones for the SG. 90480-12053-00
2.49 for the left and right upper back ones for the SG and both right uppers for the G. 90480-12261-00

So I got some new rubbers and clean shiny nuts from Boats.

                        I ordered some

I ordered some of them shiny new nuts and a couple extra that I will toss in a bag for later.

I had two shiny new ones already on Great Ranger from last Fall dropping my nuts and pipe in the road goin to Eureka Springs Rally. I was using borrowed nuts till I got the new ones, now the others felt left out.

On a positive note, I do like the look of the newer shiney ones and may have to go all around for both my bikes.
