I have run my "new to me" XJ1100 a few short jaunts. I changed the oil and filter. Oil check light is fine. This honey runs hot, real hot. Two blocks up the street and back and you cannot hold your hand on the crankase, either side. I run my XS750 the same and the crankcase is barely warm. What could be going on in there?

Pull a couple of spark plugs and see what color they are. If they are white or ashy, you are running lean. Pull one and two, take a picture and post it here. Better still, pull all four plugs and show us.
