Can these things be rebuilt? i dont know if they are all like this but the pair i got has 5 dampening levels. the right side one has blown a seal, theres caked up gunk and oil all over it....

Some of the high-end models can be, but most of them, no. The rebuildable units have aluminum main bodies IIRC, if your's are steel it's toast...Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two
