How do you like your Buell? If I was going to get a newer bike I would only consider a few. The Buell is one of them, either the XB12, 1125R/CR, a ZRX12R, the FZ1 and possibly a Firehawk... Which either rips wheelies the easiest. Of course, all fuel injected except the ZRX...

i like it...its actually my wifes bike...fun bike tho...if i were to get another buell though it would be the 1125...that thing is a monster...one thing i dont like is that so much stuff is done bass-akwards with these bikes, erik buell is def one of those " i'm so smart that i engineer things my way, to hell what anybody else wants, especially the consumer " ... makes for an interesting setup...my R1 was a racebike that i converted for street use, still has all the race drivetrain suspension, wheels, etc...the buell gets lower in the corner faster, and is out of the corner before the R1 can, for riproaring track speeds, bioth turns and straights, nothing beats my r1...but for fun tight maneuvering, its hard to beat the xb12r, especially now that mine motor has been rebuilt...my cousin is a harley race motor builder, and he did the rebuild on it, but he wont tell me what he did, i just feel a drastic difference...when it came time to put it back together and do the small stuff he let his son finish it up, and thats why im rethreading a sparkplug hole ( who has now been fired for being a coke-head, mine was the last one he was allowed to touch) ... yay!

If I do go with a Buell I will be getting one with the Rotax engine... just heard better from them... Also, FI would be a treat and the gobs of torque would be a lot of fun. A coworker of mine has a Firehawk and I dig the sound.

Brent has one of those. He's put lots of miles on too but has to have most service done for him because it's difficult to work on. That engine sounds like a bunch of nuts and bolts being shook up in a coffee can though.

                just sayin'

This post may in the wrong forum, but not the sentiment. I couldn't agree more with xsairborne. I knew zip about these bikes when I bought mine, and everybody from TKAT to the newest member has been generous with their time & knowledge. My bike wouldn't be on the road without this group, and the 'pitch in' spirit has been invaluable with my rebuild. Thanks to all who offered parts & assistance.

                    Hi Greg,
an apocryphal letter exchange from the 1930s:-

                    Irate customer:-
my engine sounds like a bucketful of ball bearings being poured onto an iron plate.
                    Ettoire Bugatti:-
From what you describe, your engine is running perfectly.

And another one that shows the mindset of those times:-

                    Irate customer:-
the car does not start easily when it's been parked overnight in cold weather.
                    Ettoire Bugatti:-
All you need to do is remove the coolant and oil after parking and take them inside. In the morning heat the fluids to blood temperature and replace them in the car. Set the spark to fully retarded, the hand throttle to 1/4 open, the choke to full and crank the engine.
And had my staff known you did not have a heated motor-house they would not have let you buy the car in the first place.
