    Hey there Sparks,

Just below in the MISC forum, there's a thread or two on how to post photos, basically you need a Photobucket account, upload to that, copy the IMG link it provides, then paste it here, and the photos should show up!

Follow this link to the Official Yamaha Parts Fiche, Click Proceed to Parts catalog, then select, Motorcycle, 1979, but you'll have to settle for the "F", Yamaha seems to have misplaced the files for the Special SF, then find the Electrical diagrams, there are 2, look at each one, you'll see some items near that location on the frame, probably the light checker unit or such, but can't recall exactly, but sounds like yours is missing since you only state the square rubber mount, but not the item in it???

If you don't have any manuals, find Catatonic Bug's profile, follow his links to his webpage, download the owner's and service manuals, lots of info there for newbys!

Ahhhh.....that is the mount for your rear turn signals. The round stalk the turn signal mounts to has a matching square "plug" on the end that the bolt goes through. It keeps the turn signal properly oriented so it is facing the correct direction when mounted.

If your bike has or had side bags at one time, the signals may have been moved back onto the fender area or license plate mount.
Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.

That sounds reasonable.. The bike is new to me/.. Havent riden it yet. My wife wants me to take a 4 day course and retake my motorcycle endorsement test before I climb aboard.. I havent been on a bike for 20 years so, I guess it's a good idea.. I go out to the garage to warm it up and fool around with it every now and a gain.. looking for some bags and a fairing. Dont yet have propper cloths either. Not sure what direction to go as far as one piece "suite" or jacket and pants.. And what do you do with em when you get to a destination.. With no bags I guess I wouild just have to carry them or wear them.. Thanks for the reply.. Now that I know how to do it, I'll post a picture of the new bike..

Motorcycle endorsement test? Huh? I got my motorcycle endorsement in '74 and it auto-renews with my regular auto license. Never had to re-take a test for it. Or for an auto, for that matter. Are the states really THAT different when it comes to auto regulations? Hey, my MC endorsement was even portable when I moved to PA in '93 and back to NY in '08.
