a word to the wise. if u dont do the work yourself, u will never know what was done to the carbs when u reinstall them and u have issues. in my experience after a carb cleaning, u most likely will have to make adjustments and/or fixes. these carbs are easy to r&r and clean. its what comes after that takes talent, so if ur not comfortable with mechanicals, i would ask if ur carb guy will set them up after the cleaning. theres a load of carb info here and lots of experience.

      Thanks guys!

I think you've talked me into giving it a whirl on this end.
A special thanks to DGXSER for the step by step process.
I have to schedule this event and will let you know how it turns out.

Thanks again for all the input.

In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

I'm a computer guy by trade myself and I rather like to wrench on the bike as something to do different. I don't have a workbench at the moment so I'm glad that mine are working fine without having to be gone into, but if they needed done I would certainly do them myself rather than pay someone to do them, even at the $30 rate, especially since if something went wrong I wouldn't know what he had done wrong, as least if I do it wrong I'll know it was my fault, and frankly, these carbs although a little picky about being clean and such are really pretty simple as compared to an automotive carb or FI.
