  • Fairing options?

    G'day all,

I've been searching around for a fairing for my XS1100H, and due to the lack of anything Vetter related in Australia, I'm trying to work out what other options there are. One option I have at the moment is a Rickman Polaris fairing, which looks like this:

I've only managed to find photos of this type of fairing fitted to a Honda CX500, I'm wondering if anyone has tried fitting one to an XS11? Does anyone reckon it'd fit? I'm not sure if the size of the tanks between bikes would be too different. Brackets aren't a big barrier, they're not hard to make up.

Another option I've seen was from Eveready1100's bike, which was from an R100 BMW, which I reckon looked the part. Other than the Vetter fairings (which would be ideal, but hard to find), what have others tried? Always interesting to see what others have fitted, and what problems they ran into along the way.

    Cheers.

Here's another option for you. These Shoei's were fitted to our XS11 cop bikes in the 80's. There's plenty of these around if you look-

Have you had a look around the Aussie site yet?

I had a bit of a look around, stumbled upon the thread which made mention of the Jacwal Superwedge fairing. Holy heck, that thing looks insane. Kind of like someone attached the nose cone of a bullet train to a motorcycle...

This aftermarket fairing was for a mid/late 70s Goldwing. It's cheap but it fits good on my standard and is about 10 lbs lighter than a Vetter. I swapped the seal beam with an H4 setup. It bolted right onto the Vetter mount.
