  • Where/how does the front brake splitter mount

Hi folks, I'm stumped and need a little advice.

I got my bike from an impound lot and it had been wrecked. Now, I'm in the process of putting it back together and can't figure out where the front brake line splitter is supposed to mount (it was just hanging on the bike when I got it). From the pictures in the service manual it looks like it's supposed to mount where the front wire support mounts, but none of the holes seem to line up correctly.

Does anyone have a picture of how their splitter is mounted, or a link to a picture or diagram showing how the splitter bolts to the frame?

    Thanks in advance.

It bolts to the front of the lower triple tree with one bolt. There is also a pin sticking out the junction block that fits into a hole in the triple tree to keep it from rotating. All of this is in back of the plastic Yamaha badge triple tree cover, sorry I don't have a photo.

Thanks, I think I know why I was confused...

My junction/line splitter doesn't look like the one pictured in your reply, and it doesn't have a pin to fit into the non-threaded hole.

The previous owner must have replaced the original one with splitter from a different bike.

Now I'll have to either hit ebay for a replacement, or figure out if I can modify this one to fit.

        Thanks again...

If you need one, I think I have one you can have for postage. I got it as a "bonus" part at one point, and have no use for it. PM me if you're interested.
