If you have the stock fuse box you should read out the fuses to make sure they read continuity because sometimes they look just fine but break where you can't see them. Its even a good idea to do if you don't have the stock fuse block.

ahhh! So much good infor and tips! I think BigRed may be on to something though. I cleaned the starter and checked a bunch of wires, everything looks good. I earnstly tried to look at a wiring diagram and diagnos the way Captnzap explain, but that is just way over my head at this point. So this morning I bridged the solenoid just to run it around the neighborhood for a bit. After a couple minutes, while sitting at a stop sign I accidentally staled out. Being the curious man I am I tried the starter button and bam, started right back up. Does the bike charge the battery while its running? If so why couldn't I start it back up with the starter button after 3 mins of pumping gas at a gas station. I feel like I'm shamelessly taking advantage of you guy's knowledge, but I'm learning a lot and if BigRed is right I may have isolated the problem. Thanks!79 F
