    Ahh....OK.

I've never heard one of those running. I've heard them with the bullet tip mufflers (very quiet) and with the turnouts like mine (loud but not obnoxious) but I've not heard the megaphone muffs.

Hi Cap, you'll get different opinions on running the pods. I have them and have no jetting issues at all. I did go up one size on the pilot jets and have the stock exhaust. I don't detect any more or less power, runs great. I simply like the look and sound.

shes just run in, the majority of bikes over
here have well over 100,000 ks with a
few over 300,000. ive always liked the rear end
on the midnites compared to the sport models we
have over here and the sissy bar just finishes it off.

Those DO appear to be the OEM pipes with the OEM finned clamps, they are BLACK GOLD!!! I would definitely find a welder or muffler shop that could repair/patch them. There is supposed to be a water drain hole at the leading edge of the muffler near the headers, the pipes are dual layered. Are you actually feeling exhaust pulses from the holes, are they in the actual bends of the header pipes??

the bottom of the pipes was rotted all the way back. up here in newfoundland theres alot of salt and i live like 100 feet from the water. i used my mig welder and patched a few holes that i could feel was leaking. then i sand blasted the exhaust and re painted them but i can still see the pitted steel so thats why im looking for new ones. also i like alittle more sound from the bike not to much but enough to turn heads when i drive her

I'll disagree with TC and say those aren't OEM mufflers; the ends appear to have a slight flare and look flat beyond that. They look to be just a bit longer than the the stock ones too. A close-up pic would clear that up....

Somebody went to some effort when they replaced them though.
