  • Zanotti Coils

Hey, guys. I have a 1980 xs1100sg. I just figured out that i need some new coils and plug wires. I had read on an old post that zanotti coils were like the originals and were around 100 bucks. I can't seem to find out how to get a hold of this company to order some. I would be very helpful to know if this company is still the best option for replacement stock coils and how to contact the company. Thanks for the help! I just became a member and just bought my xs1100 a week ago. I can't wait to get it going and go for a ride.

MAN, there are a lot of new members here in south central.

There's plenty of advice on that here green. I'm still running stock and always have so I'll have no input there.

Just wanted to say hi and welcome to the forum.

Zanotti Motors is no longer in business, here's the Dynatek coils at Z1 Enterprises, may be able to find them cheaper if you shop around.

Don't mean to thread jack, but I put a H-D coil on my xs650 and it is a quite well documented change on the 650 site, for more powerful spark, just wondering if 2 H-D coils could be used on an 11?

Electrically they would work (2.5 -3.1 ohm primary resistance) but might be a bit hard to package on the bike due to their shape...

Ah yes, they r kinda bulky. Same prob on the xs650, I ended up mounting it right to the front downtube, about where an 11s oil cooler would sit. But if a guy can fabricate brackets they could be a significantly cost effective choice, as they can usually be had off fleabay for $25-30 each, sometimes with wires included if u r lucky...

Just get the ones from Dyna. you can find them cheaper if you search a little, they come with a warranty and they are name brand rather than cheap chines junk.
