  • Leaky shock

Came back from a ride on the LH and after I parked I noticed a leak. Took me a long time to trace the origin. Seems my left rear shock is leaking and blowing back into the tire rim and spraying everything south of the mid drive shaft. I've taken shocks apart before but never down that far. Are leaks repairable or am I in the market now for a different set. If so anyone have a spare left shock? Also I assume that a sh shock is the same, just need to be painted?

+1. Yep, if it's leaking, it's toast. The SH shock should be the same other than finish.

And etiquette states that it is good form to replace both shocks at the same time.
Lets face it, they both have the same amount of wear, and one new one may have a different damping rate than the remaining old one, and the old one may spring a leak any day now.
But, it is your bike. CZ
