Hey fellas. Put on some new dyna coils last night. The green 3 ohm ones. I bypassed my ballast resistor. I used Accell SuperStock Wire. The wire is 8mm radio supression core. I couldnt get any spark. Today i re-read everything about coils in the tech tips and everything i could find after searching "dyna coil" And compared it to how ive got it wired up on my bike. It all checks out. If i ohm across the plug boots, i get ~35k reading. Anyone know if this sounds about right? Where's my spark?

35k Is high but if you are using resistor wires and resistor caps that would be why It Is high.
Do you have a signal coming to the coils from the TCI? What is your resistance on the other side of the coil.Nathan

Like Nate said, 35k ohms seems a bit high, but these are supposed to be stronger coils generating much higher KV levels, so would think they should be able to push thru the extra 10K vs. OEM??
Have you checked to make sure you have 12 volts at the red/white wires at the coils low tension leads??
Also, you have to have spark plugs plugged into both ends of the single coil and properly grounded to the engine/head so that the spark can travel thrun both wires and the engine.

Ya know somethin' Capn' Zap? It might as well have been that obvious. Top Cat called it when he said that both plugs needed to be grounded. I just had the other side dangling free. I would feel dumb, but...eh. I dont wanna. Thanks again T.C.! Not the first time you've come to my rescue.1980 XS1100 SG Stock
