  • Valve shim clearance check

Can someone check my math as to what new shim I need? Ill be using the early spec since its for my 79f. I'm doing both bikes at the same time, but my 80sg is my daily driver so I'm hoping to use shims off my 79 since it'll be down a while.

    Inch feeler gauges used
    1I .004 current shim 255 new shim 245?
    2I .003 current shim 250 new 240?
    3I .004 current shim 250 new 240?
    4I .004 current shim 255 new 245?

    1E .008 current 280 new 275?
    2E .006 current 280 new 270?
    3E .006 current 285 new 275?
    4E .008 current 285 new 280?

    Thank you!

Thanks, Steve! I'll post them for my 80sg once I get her torn down(probably tomorrow evening) just to be sure I have her right too.
