  • Xs1100sf no more...

That beautiful, low mileage 79XS special that you members helped me restore with your forums, no longer exists. If you need parts for one, I believe they took the remains to surfside wreckers near Myrtle beach in SC. She was good to me in the short time I had her. Got me to MB from Pittsburgh without a hiccup, and motivated me to enroll in motorcycle mechanics school. It was a hell of a machine, only to be killed at 33 years young. So, I suppose, for now, this is goodbye to you sages of UJM wisdom, as I prepare for more surgeries to repair my leg. Be careful out there. I don't plan on giving up riding, but please be careful out there.

My girlfriend and I were riding by the hwy17 bypass when a truck swerved across two lanes and tboned us. My shin was crushed by the bumper, and my girl went flying off. As i watched the truck speed off into the night I noticed a pair of lights approaching us. In the lights I saw Alana's shadow. I grabbed for her but couldn't reach, and the taxi jumped to the side, grazing her. I watched the love of my life being run down. The taxi broke her shoulder, and the driver parked, ran out in front of her, waving his hands to divert traffic, and called for help. That's about when I passed out.

So sorry to hear about this

The news is sketchy but called it a fatality accident...is your girlfriend OK?

Glad the taxi van stopped at least. Maybe he or someone else saw the truck and they can find the driver that ran away.

            Prayers your way.

Wow that sounds like quite an accident. Best of luck getting healthy. I was t boned many years ago by someone pulling out onto a busy highway on a Friday evening and they hit right behind my leg and broke the rear shock. I never saw it coming due to the traffic. I came out of it with just a real bad case of road rash and later put the bike back together. Good luck to you and the lady.

Glad to hear you and your lady are both still here and the only fatality was the bike. With any luck the run-a-way driver will be found and you can get justice for his/her stupidity.

Prayers for you and your girlfriend's health and recovery!

Not having been hit nearly at bad as you were, but I have some idea how it feels, hope you guys get better soon. Hope they get this guy and turn him over to some one percenters. These guys need to be taught a lesson.
