Yes, big end first. There's supposed to be a 'cup' on the small end so the spring doesn't dig into the rubber seal...Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

Oh yeah, been there. Mine was all crudded up and when I was trying to pull the cylinder out, everything came out at once and flew across the living room. It was like a puzzle. Glad you got it back together.XS11SH :: K&N Pods, 4->1, Dynojet kit, Barnett clutch springs, TC's fuse block, ATGATT
