  • Power then no power then power again

In the middle of a weekend trip. Brutus is acting up, lights up with turn of ignition, then goes dead, then starts up. Hearing a clicking noise in area of starter I think. I did travel with a spare tci. Eventually starts but nerve racking.
Any ideas while I'm on the road. Heading home tomorrow.

I'll bet you have a problem with one of the connections in the ignition system. Just because they seem good doesn't mean they are.

Thanks for all the quick responses, don't want to be stuck in Manhattan over weekend needing a tow. Main fuse ok, battery connections are tight will recheck along with ignition connections and ground.

Had a Honda that did that turned out to be the ignition switch. Keys and/or key chains dangling while I rode wore it out and it would shut off the power and turn it on at random times. Sometimes only one cylinder would cut out,.( it was a 450 twin) very frustrating for a while. I found it when I bumped the key one day. Now I only have the one key in and nothing hanging from it. These kinds of problems can make ya crazy.

Damn! Doesn't it just suck when it's an easy one!
Glad you figured it out so easily instead of tearing the whole bike apart.
