    Hello and a couple of pics of my new ride!

    Hello and thank you for letting me join the fun!

    Below are a couple of pics (sorry cell phone) of my 80 XS1100G.

    I bought it from a friend of a co-worker, actually I should say I stole it, for I got it for $500. Anyway, it was a runner before being parked a few years ago.

    Needs tires, new battery, tank and carb clean, fluid change and brake service. I think I'm gonna be busy for a while.

    Here are the pics.....

    In my garden shed....cleanest its been in years



    Just got it off the truck.....woot!!!



    The bike in the background is my 97 Suzuki Savage that I ride to work....Fun bike...

    Anyway, hope everyone likes the pics, and I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of dumb questions.

      Very nice find. That is what i paid for mine and $34 later, i have been riding it for a couple of months now and got it all lined out and its so fun. I think we got the deals of a lifetime. Have fun with it.

        I like your G. Great score! It's funny how many standards end up wearing the Special pull-back bars. On the XS650 side, ditching those bars it the first thing the majority does. I see where they end up.

              Hi Ray, Welcome to the site.
              Nice steal on that ride. Looks like it's in good shape and shouldn't take much to get it road worthy.
              This is definitely the place to find out anything about these wonderful machines.

                    Many thanks to everyone for all the kind words. I'll be starting a "getting it running" thread in the coming days. Already got the seat off and the hideous sissy bar.

                    If anyone has a luggage rack/sissy bar combo, please pm me about it.

                      I'll be ditching these as well, had them on the Savage, hated them. I'm looking at a Daytona style or Euro style bar....in black of course. Less glare into the eyes.

                        Wow, what a great deal. It's an awesome looking bike. I have always been partial to the specials, but these standards are really starting to grow on me. Congratulations!
