    So over the last 30 some years the seat from our 79 XS11 Special has seen better days. I have recovered seats in the past but this one kinda scared me, but finally bit the bullet and tore into it.

    Before: Taped up with vinyl tape to cover the holes.

    After: Added an additional 2 inches of NeuFoam quilted onto the cover.

    It is not as tight fitting as the original, but not to bad for trying to fashion a pattern from old hard vinyl and sewing on a machine that is older than I am. But just to show you don't HAVE to suffer with old ripped seats!

      Not too shabby! Did you think to make a pattern so you can make more of them?

        Nope didn't think of that, but would not be too late as I still have all the original pieces that I could create a pattern from. Just had never seen another Lizard-Tailed seat so didn't think there would be much of a demand for them.

        Anyone else out there with one of these seats that needs a cover?

        My thumbnails for the last two pictures don't seem to be linking over to the larger versions of the pictures. Not sure what is going on.
